A versatile instrumentalist, Jazreel picked up the erhu, gaohu and banhu in high school and has not stopped pursuing her passion since. During her undergraduate studies at the National University of Singapore (NUS), she was a gaohu and banhu player in the NUS Chinese Orchestra, and undertook the role of Vice President and Concert Committee Chairman. She has also been performing with the NUS Chinese Orchestra and has guest performed for other local chinese orchestras for their annual concerts. Jazreel is passionate about improvising and integrating traditional Chinese music into other genres. She has traversed a variety of music genres, including collaborations with the NUS Jazz Band and Cultural Medallion recipient Mr. Iskandar Ismail, as well as electronic music bands and guitar ensembles. She also plays the erhu for post-rock band Lie of Pi. Jazreel is currently a Senior Associate at KPMG’s Forensic practice.
